This REALLY sucks! I do not understand. Square offers a great product and Otterbox offers a very desirable and I believe needed case for my Iphone. HOWEVER, as I am sure that you are aware, your reader and the Otterbox case do not gel. I had to take my phone out of the protection of the case in order to use your reader and guess what... after 6 years of pristine phones, I have a useless chunk of metal thanks to the lack of compatible products between Apple, Square and Otterbox. I tried extensions, to no avail. Bad!!! business decision on all your parts. I've purchased a chip reader so what am I to do about sliding a customers card? Please, give me a real answer, better yet, someone change the product to match the compatibility issues. I know from reading other people's comments that this is a widespread problem. Is anyone going to do the right thing?
When will Square come out with a longer connector or extension for the reader to be compatible with phone cases? Because of this annoying problem, I am now asking customers to pay with check or cash. So Square is losing money until a solution can be found.
@MicroTech While we don't currently have a timeline for creating an extender, I'll be happy to pass along this to our product team. In the meantime, check out the reader that Spenser suggested above so you won't need to take off your phone case at all and your business will be protected from the liability shift.

Mine costs $10 for a13 Android I complained about the original design and they just did nothing now with the new one that they just sent me for my $10 it is exactly what I was expecting to get in the first place end of story thank you
In their policy it had 3 reasons as to why it could get denied.
1.they dont have your correct contact
2.you have no proof of ownership or damage
3.you ordered excessive amounts on your name or on your behalf
You do realize that is stealing? Which is a punishable crime? Why don't you just actually pay to buy the case? If you get caught, you could get arrested...just so you know. Also, a lot of times, they do ask for photos and the case to be mailed back. Good luck trying to get over on that. Stupid cheapskates!
To be clear, this is 100% dishonest and STEALING. The warranty exists for people who have previously purchased an Otterbox and it broke. When people play the system like this to get free things that they don't pay for, it ends up ruining chances that people who paid for one are actually able to use their generous warranty for a replacement. Smh. And to be so bold as to brag about stealing on a blog. Shame on you!
The last thing I want to do is get a free box by being dishonest in getting a new one. My wife has her current phone in an otterbox that is in 'as new' condition. She is upgrading her phone and the old one won't fit. Will otterbox provide a new case in I return the old one so they can resell and thereby recycle it for the sake of the environment
Haha, i know some women that could use Utter Boxes to keep their utters protected. Here but I think anyone here just needs an OtterBox for their phone. And most of them are just a bunch of lazy ass scammers that don't want to to work and pay for something but they can afford these thousand twelve hundred dollar phones. Pathetic
