Make it. Protect it. Pass it on!

I'm writing you coming off a long weekend celebrating our independence. As I watched fireworks exploding in the sky I found myself doing some serious reflecting, as I’m sure you probably have too.

We celebrate our independence from British tyranny, but today we find ourselves facing a whole new tyranny. The tyranny of corruption that stems from a legalized bribing system we call our campaign finance system.

In all honesty, I’m afraid of what happens next. For my family, for my community. For you, for your family, and for your community. We’re at a pivotal moment, and we’re going to need to do what we’ve always done to get through the most challenging of times: rely on each other.

Government should work for all of us, but since the day I was born, and to be fair even before that, they've instead represented their biggest campaign contributors. That's the bad news, the good news is you can change things.

You may wonder how on earth you can make a difference? Well, it's simple... you have power! We don't win the 28th Amendment without you. Not going to sugarcoat it, but if this movement is going to win, we need your help.

What happens next isn’t just up to me. It’s up to all of us together, and it’s up to each of us individually. It's up to you. We need a small percentage of people, who have the means, to chip in just $5 a month to keep us going. If you can do more, we’re extremely grateful.

Your support helps amazing volunteers like David Abney from Wolf-PAC Arizona.

“Armed with my new tools and training I could not wait to dive into my community and get some organizing done. I set up a table event at the biggest gun show we have in Tucson. It was a challenging experience, but it gave me the perfect opportunity to have difficult conversations with people that I do not agree with. People are very polarized and almost tribal, but most people agree that corruption is wrong.”- David Abney

After tabling the gun show, he checked out a few churches. He found one where he really connected, and became a member. David has joined a number of church groups over the years. One called the Lay Organization has a social justice committee, and takes on training and educational tasks. Another is Soldiers of Spirits, performing home repairs for the needy and outreach work for the homeless.

Helping people getting registered to vote

By volunteering his time helping to feed the homeless, provide warm winter blankets, paint church buildings, and register people to vote, he earns the blessings of such groups – for himself, and sometimes also for Wolf-PAC. During one service, the pastor said, “This is important. There is a group out there that is working hard to get big money out of politics. They are called Wolf-PAC, and if you want to know more about them, go talk to brother David over there.”

David Abney is just one of many examples of how you can help connect with people, and unite over the one issue on which we all agree, regardless of our politics otherwise – we can unite on the issue of corruption. During these times of unprecedented change, we are a growing movement. We must now stand by each other, despite any differences we might have. Let’s get involved with our communities and let’s connect and support each other.

Please consider donating to help us in this important work. If you have the means, please become a contributor and help our organization thrive. Through individual acts, we all can improve one small corner of the world; by working together, we can spread the word, and make great progress.

With the real-life consequences of a government that prioritizes profit over people on full display, the need for Wolf-PAC’s plan is more obvious than ever. It is vital that we come out on the other side of this stronger, and ready to fight for a government of, by, and for the people.

Our community has always been the strongest part of Wolf-PAC, and I know it’s going to shine brighter than ever as we go forward through these uncharted waters. Together, we can improve our democracy by pushing for free and fair elections. We can ensure that the government works for us, rather than just for the wealthy. For bringing this goal closer to reality, we thank David Abney, and the many supporters like him.

Thank you for believing in our mission.
