On Monday, the New Jersey legislature passed SCR 161 ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌

On Monday, the New Jersey state legislature passed SCR 161, which effectively rescinded ALL of their previous Article V Convention calls.  Unfortunately, this also means the New Jersey Free & Fair Elections resolution, SCR 132, is now repealed. The rescission resulted from a general fear of people and opinions on the other side of the political aisle and overall ignorance of how the convention process works.

We've been dealing with this viewpoint, especially from the Democratic establishment, for quite a while. It's disheartening, to say the least, but it does reinforce what our volunteers and leaders have been focusing on over the last year. They’ve been working on readjusting our strategy from focusing heavily on building relationships with legislators to building power in our communities with the people.

For many years, we believed — and taught  — that a small group of people can influence legislators to do the right thing. Though this is true in some cases, what they always respond to is power, and power is exactly what we must commit to building.

On a personal level, this rescission is disappointing to me.

I remember visiting our legendary volunteer, Walker Green, in the hospital the night we passed and how excited and hopeful everyone was. It’s a feeling that I've been fortunate enough to experience multiple times and something I really hope that everyone in Wolf-PAC can experience at some point.

I’m proud of everyone who stood up and fought to protect the New Jersey resolution over the last couple of weeks. We had a great committee hearing with new and old volunteers making our case far more eloquently and passionately than our opposition — as usual. We had far more New Jersey citizens submitting testimony, emailing, and calling legislators than our opposition — as usual.

Karen Chambers wrote a fantastic article on TYT.com that was promoted by our Communications Team and sent to members of the New Jersey Assembly.

Kauthar Tung did an excellent job of leading the Wolf Attack (phone banking) Team. Kauthar has shown incredible perseverance and stood strong to keep the team going, even with low participation at times.

Rano Banerjee and Don Chawla, who took time out of their personal lives to go to the state capitol and lead the lobbying effort in person, despite difficult COVID-19 restrictions.

Sam Fieldman, our legal counsel, did an extraordinary job coordinating the fight. He traveled to New Jersey and talked to allied organizations while balancing other Wolf-PAC work and family life.

I am extremely appreciative of all the work that was done by staff and volunteers in an attempt to save the Free & Fair Elections Resolution and the historic accomplishment of our New Jersey team.

Unfortunately for those who thrive from this corrupt system of government, the New Jersey legislature can’t change the dedication and perseverance of the people in this organization.

This has been a tough couple of years for Wolf-PAC and our country as a whole. What's genuinely amazing is that even through all of it, we have people still here, fighting the good fight day in and day out, day after day, week after week. These people inspire me, and despite this setback, I know we're going to build the power necessary to amend the U.S. Constitution and change the course of history for the better.

From our entire team here at Wolf-PAC, we hope you’re having a wonderful holiday season with your loved ones. You can expect many more updates as we continue the process of readjusting our focus on building real, unstoppable people-power. It’s the only way forward, and we’re going to need you to participate in any way you can.
