Hi, Wolf-pac rhode island.

The road to the 28th amendment is long and winding, and it can be both exhausting and exhilarating. At Wolf-PAC, we’ve embarked on an extraordinary journey together — one that gives us an incredible opportunity to meet people along the way who bring with them their own unique set of skills, perspectives, and personalities. We learn from them, grow with them, and are a stronger organization because of them.

So it is with mixed emotions I’m writing this update for you. Change is upon us: National Director Mike Monetta and National Legislative Director John Shen will be transitioning out of Wolf-PAC this month. I’m not going to sugarcoat it, it hurts losing Mike and John. They are not only co-workers of mine but friends. We’ve been through a lot together.

John Shen has accepted a new job as a project manager and his last day with Wolf-PAC was April 6th. Mike Monetta will be staying in the amendment movement and has accepted a position with an allied organization, American Promise. His final day was April 15th.

Even though the news of their departure is a difficult pill to swallow, this is an opportunity for Wolf-PAC to grow stronger, and I am optimistic about our future. I want to stress this is not blind optimism, it's real, and it comes from what I’ve witnessed over my 6 years in Wolf-PAC, especially this last year! I’ve seen countless volunteers step up over and over again. I’ve seen hesitant participants turn into true leaders. I’ve seen our volunteers create a bottom-up process to ensure that the changes we make as an organization are all focused on being on the path to winning.

“If you can’t fly, then run. If you can’t run, then walk. If you can’t walk, then crawl. But whatever you do, you have to keep moving forward” -Martin Luther King Jr.

Enough from me, let’s hear from Mike and John:

Mike: "It has been a true honor to work for this incredible organization. I signed up on the very first day Wolf-PAC was announced because I loved the boldness of the plan and grasped the urgent need for an amendment that will put an end to the corruption that is poisoning our future. Every day for the last decade, I’ve felt the privilege of being able to dedicate myself to this mission, as well as the heavy weight that comes with the responsibility we all have here. The future of our country and our world depends on our success because it’s a reality that we will not be able to solve any of the most pressing issues of our time unless we first break the stranglehold that big money and special interests have over our government. I’ve experienced many highs and many lows throughout my time here. I still remember watching from the balcony as the final vote was cast to make Vermont the first state in American history to call for a convention to fix the issue of big money in politics. It was a proud moment for me and also empowering because I started to understand that we actually do have the ability to enact real change. I also remember the gut wrenching moments when we were extremely close to passing another state, only to be rejected by fear or ignorance of our plan. I was in the trenches with our state teams during many of those moments and was able to witness first hand the dedication, perseverance, and courage of some of the most amazing people in the country. The people - all of you - make this organization truly special and the culture we’ve built here is what I’m most proud of. I appreciate the countless sacrifices that each of you continues to make for our mission. I also appreciate the support you’ve given me personally over the years and I will be forever grateful. I’m not going too far and I will continue to stay connected to Wolf-PAC in any capacity I can, including being an advisor and volunteering on the film project until its completion. Thank you for a lifetime of memories and for being on this amazing journey with me."

John: "It's bittersweet to say the least to be delivering this news. Wolf-PAC has been an incredibly important part of my life for many years. I've had some truly amazing and heartbreaking memories with this movement that have shaped me into the person I am today. I have had the privilege to meet and work alongside some of the best people in the world and am lucky enough to consider many of them true friends. I'll miss my time here and it wasn't an easy decision to make, but I am also very excited about the opportunities to grow in my life and career ahead. I look forward to staying in touch and being a part of the Wolf-PAC community as much as I can in the future and wish each of you the absolute best"

With the absence of two full-time employees, Wolf-PAC’s Leadership Council has been working to ensure a smooth transition. This includes new roles for the remaining staff to ensure all essential functions are prioritized and covered.

With these changes, I will be stepping into the role of Development Director. My #1 priority is to ensure that all essential areas of Wolf-PAC have the support they need. The primary focus of this role will be the development of the Finance/Fundraising Department. I will also be providing support to the Committees and the Program Development Team. Each of these areas is critical to Wolf-PAC’s mission of building the power needed to address our broken and corrupt campaign finance system. My goal is to ensure that all essential areas are covered while also ensuring a healthy work-life balance. With the help of National Counsel, Sam Fieldman, along with our amazing volunteers, I know it’s possible, and I am excited to take on this role.

There will be future announcements regarding updates to operations, systems of support, and plans for the future as we move forward. It's a bittersweet moment with real challenges, but it’s also important to embrace this opportunity for Wolf-PAC. We have a great chance of emerging from this challenge stronger and better built for the years ahead, but that only becomes a reality with you!

I can’t do this alone, I need each and every one of you. Wolf-PAC can’t do this without you. You have power. You have a voice. You will determine the future of Wolf-PAC.

I’m excited for the future of this organization because of you. Let’s embrace this moment together and build an organization so powerful that we can bend the government to our will rather than the other way around!
