Hey, Faeries!

Blossom here, writing to you from the beautiful and wet Wolf Creek
Sanctuary. For the last year and a half, I've been living on the land
and working part-time as a production weaver. My goal is to
demonstrate a sustainable crafts business to this community while
providing income for myself and others.

It's been quite successful as a demonstration and made us some decent
income, but it has not been sustainable. You see, I've been working
under contract for another weaver and bringing in little income with
promises of long term gain. In the end, however, the promises have
come to nothing so I quit while I was ahead. I've gained much
experience during my productive time as an apprentice, but the only
way I'll get this business to a sustainable level is to weave and sell
my own cloth in my own market.

I realize that the Radical Faeries and the Wolf Creek Community are
not a primary market capable of sustaining an entire business. I'll be
selling my stuff in craft shows up and down the coast this coming
Spring and Summer and working to get pieces into boutiques and
galleries, provided that I have enough cloth to sell.

And, here's where I can use a hand. I've got a batch of my own
beautiful cloth that I've cut and sewn into scarves, cloaks and bags
to sell over the holidays. I'll be using the income from selling them
to pay for my next batch of materials and the fees for my first
independent shows. At that point, the business will be self-sufficient
and far more profitable than my apprenticeship was.

The prices at this fundraiser will range from $12 up to $300, with
most items being around $40, so there's something for everyone! Please
consider coming out to show your moral and financial support for a
sanctuary-based business and get your holiday shopping done at the
same time. I will accept Visa, MC, Discover and Amex at all of these
venues.

In addition to my Etsy store, I'll be showing off my stuff at three
specific events on this trip. There's not much in the treasure chest
so the sooner you see it, the better the selection will be.
1. http://etsy.com/shop/WeavingMonk - Grand Opening Sale ends on Tuesday night.
2. Shabutter, the weekly faerie get-together. Friday, December 10th,
all evening. House of Butter, 2725 SE 34th Ave. Many items that are
not on Etsy will be premiering at Shabutter.
3. Faerie Coffee, Saturday, December 11th, 9:00AM -1:00PM. Three
Friends Coffee House, 201 SE 12th Ave.
4. Turning of the Wheel Yule Festival, Saturday, December 11th,
3:00PM-7:00PM. Q Center, 4115 N. Mississippi Ave.

I hope to see you all at one of these events. Feel free to spread the word!

Thanks for your help!
Blossom
