Subject: Cll for applications - Institute for Academic Feminist Psychology, March 2-3, 2016
To:
WMS...@listserv.umd.eduPlease spread the word among your early career feminist psychologist
friends and colleagues:
We are pleased to announce the second Institute for Academic Feminist
Psychologists will be held in Pittsburgh, March 2-3, 2016. The call for
applications is attached. Applications are due by October 2. The Institute
is sponsored by the Society for the Psychology of Women (APA Division 35).
The primary goal of this Institute is to create and sustain networks of
early career feminist academic psychologists that can prepare, promote,
and support one another professionally through discussions and
collaborations. The Institute will bring together individuals from various
psychology subdisciplines and from diverse universities and colleges who
employ or would like to employ feminist frameworks in their research,
teaching, and service. Through panel presentations, workshops, and small
group activities, panelists and participants will discuss how to manage
the demands of academic life - scholarship, teaching, and service - and
how to integrate them with personal life and self-care. We go beyond
discussion of "surviving" and address thriving!
Eligibility: Up to fifty diverse attendees will be invited. The Institute
has been specifically developed for early career (pre-tenure) and
mid-career (tenured since 2013) academic psychologists, including those
holding dual-appointments in psychology and women's studies. In addition,
spaces may be available for individuals holding post-doctoral, adjunct, or
visiting professor positions.
