I. Comparative Political Theory - Indigenous/Islamic/Asian/Latin
American/Caribbean/Non-Western TT Position

The Department of Politics at Whitman College seeks applications for a
tenure-track position in political theory, with expertise in comparative
political theory, at the rank of assistant professor. Effective August,
2016. Ph.D. required.



The successful candidate will offer courses in comparative political theory
as well as courses that contribute to the College’s general education
requirements. We seek applications from individuals with interests and
expertise in any of the following: Islamic, East Asian, South Asian, Latin
American, indigenous, Caribbean, and/or non-Western political theory in a
comparative context. The standard annual teaching load is five courses. The
College provides a generous sabbatical leave program and professional
development support for both research and teaching.

statements addressing the candidate’s teaching interests and
