WOAD with Galaxy Tab A7 Lite and Btech APRS K1Pro using TYT UV8000 radio

I am trying to setup my Galaxy Tab A7 lite on WOAD using a TYT UV8000 and Btech APRS K1 pro cable. I am getting audio into to the TAB but I am not getting the radio to PTT. 

Cable + Radio does work with my iOS smartphone running RadioMail.

I figure this is a TAB settings issue.

Hi Mike,

As I understand it the BTech APRS K1-PRO uses "built-in auto PTT" so as long as you're getting audio to the K1-PRO at sufficient volume it should trigger the PTT.

I would imagine that playing with the volume level on the Galaxy Tab and sensitivity level on the K1-PRO should allow you to ensure that the PTT is triggered.

You didn't give any of the settings you're using in WoAD for the session, but here are a couple of common problems:

1) From the session settings: Settings... TNC configuration... Channel...

The K1-PRO likely listens on either the left or right channel only (I couldn't determine which from the limited documentation) so try changing this to the other channel or Both.

2) From the session settings: Settings... TNC configuration... Audio device...

When you plug in a USB audio device sound should be automatically routed to it. In case it isn't the desired output device can be manually selected

Check the audio "source" setting in the tablet...seems like I had a similar problem with my android phone awhile back.

I ended up doing a brute force approach to settings both on the tablet and radio before finding the combinations that worked.

I was able to connect both my Yaesu VX7 and TYT to the tablet using a DigiRig Lite, Mobilinkd, and BTech APRS K1Pro cable (TYT only -- uses the same settings as the DigiRig Lite.
