WoAD standard templates update...

If anyone is desperate for the latest updates to the Winlink standard templates (and has a spare 5MB or so of storage space on their phone) then installing the following apk will provide exactly that, while you wait for the next release of WoAD:


WoAD will check its own copy of the standard templates and that of WoADTemplates and use the more recent. WoADTemplates simply acts as a content provider to WoAD.

If there is sufficient demand I'll try and release updates to WoADTemplates following an update to the standard templates (as long as a WoAD release is not imminent).

Please let me know if you encounter any problems.

The following link should work from an Android device:


If you haven't already you will also need to enable installing of unknown apps from Drive by doing the following:
  • Settings -> Apps
  • From top menu select "Special access"
  • Click on "Install unknown apps"
  • Enable "Drive"
Then click on the above link. You should be presented with an "Open With" dialog from which you should select "Package Installer"
Finally disable installing of unknown apps from Drive if it was previously disabled.

WoADTemplates is now available to install (free of charge) from the Google Play Store:

Yep, same here, looked like it downloaded, install went to 100%, then msg, 'Can't install WoaDTemplates.'  Restarted phone, samey same msg, ditto going to the Play Store" and downloading from there.  Took a while to find in the Play Store; what worked was using the precise title spelling with no space between woad and templates, caps seemed not to matter.  Else ended up on a 'Word' bunny trail. :)

No success using playstore on phone or link. Cannot install on Samsung A54 Android 14.

The WoAD Standard Templates app has now been updated and can be found here on the Play Store:

Please read the following carefully:

Only install the WoAD Standard Templates from the Play Store if you also installed WoAD itself from the Play Store.
As a result of Android's security model, the Standard Templates app from the Play Store will not install with the apk version of WoAD.

Also, if you installed the earlier version of the Standard Templates from the Play Store uninstall it before installing this new version.

Please let me know if you encounter any problems.
