"0" in SSID field, not receiving messages

Just a heads up for everyone. I ran into an issue where WoAD would send messages but would not receive. The culprit turned out to be the default setting for SSID. I initially went over all the settings and everything looked good. The default SSID setting read 0 and I just assumed this was just a placeholder, but it actually blocked reception. Once I deleted the 0 out of the field I was able to receive messages. So if you are not receiving messages on a fresh download of WoAD double check the SSID field and make sure it's blank. 73 de KC3ZEY.

Thanks for reporting this. I've tried to replicate the problem, but have been unable to do so, using the more common protocols. Could you let me know more about the session you were using (protocol, type etc). The behavior should be identical whether the SSID is set to 0 or blank.

I am not that familiar with WoAD I am still learning so I have no idea why it worked when I removed the "0" except that it has to match what my original registration is when I entered my callsign initially. I went back to my PC to check my settings under express setup and I never entered a suffix for my callsign nor do I see "0" anywhere for a default SSID.  I wonder if I entered my callsign with a  "-0" as a SSID on the end if the default "0" in WoAD would work then? Although I'm tempted to try that, I have been an advanced diagnostic Tech in the automotive field for a very long time and if it's working don't fix it comes into play here lol. To answer your original question I was just sending a System message to myself through Telnet to see if it was working. The message would be received on my PC but not on my phone or new tablet through WoAD. Like I said after deleting the "0" out of the SSID field both my phone and tablet started receiving.
