So, when I start the session, WoAD keys my HT to transmit (I hear it clearly on my base station), but nothing sends.  About ten or 15 seconds later, it keys again, but still no data sent.  My log doesn't say anything about a command to send or receive, just something about balance:

Is there a clue hidden in there, that I can use to troubleshoot this?
Thanks!

WoAD is requesting a connection (by sending a  U_SetAsyncBalancedMode  packet)  to the RMS (WA6NBG-10), but doesn't receive a response.

The next step would be to try and trace things from your HT to the RMS and back. Using your base station, you've already confirmed that the outgoing packet is transmitted, so the next step would be to determine if you can also hear the response from the RMS on your base station. You don't mention the connection type you are using (audio or KISS) or the hardware you're using but there are a few things you can try:

* check the RMS is up and running
* check some of the TNC settings (in particular TX delay)
* volume on both Android device and HT (too high and you'll distort the signal, too low and the signal won't be detected)

and others may have their favorite pitfalls they can suggest.

Hope that helps
