Hi

I was trying to configure WoAD via a Digirig to an Anytone 578.  When I use Winlink on the PC to the same radio it works.

TNC Settings 1000ms,255,7,15s,128.700ms,5,50ms
TNC Configuration Simplex, Left, 40, 16

When I start the session I get as far as sending messages then it seems to hang.  I have played with various settings and this is the best I get.

I have attached the WOAD log file.

Regards

Andy

Hi Andy,

From the look of the log it seems you have a marginal connection with packets often not making it through. It looks like the session was still active when the log ends, so it may have eventually completed.
It would be interesting to see the Winlink log of the successful connection (or even better would be the log for whichever software/hardware modem you're using). Also, using the same TNC settings would be a good starting point, keeping in mind that may be effectively getting set in the hardware/software modem rather than in Winlink.

Some suggestions, not of all which may help:

TNC Settings:
* Tx delay (ms): I find 200 to 300 generally works well.
* Maximum packet length: try 128. This may help packets get though as there is less chance of a bit-error in any given packet.
* Frack time (s): try reducing to 4s or so to get a more responsive connection

TNC Configuration:
* FX.25 FEC: Transmission check bytes: set to 0 unless you know for sure the other end is running FEC

All the best,

Andrew
