Outgoing messages disappear occasionally if I don't save to drafts first

Has anyone else experienced this? Sometimes when I write a message and then send it to my Outbox, I get the screen message that it was saved to my Outbox yet it's not there, it's not in Drafts, it's not anywhere. Very odd. My workaround is to save everything first to Drafts before sending to Outbox, but I don't think I should have to do that?

Thanks for any suggestions! I am using WoAD V1.5.22 [aside, it says copyright 2018-2025 even though I installed it this week] on a Galaxy S23 Verizon Android patched January 2026.  I'm very new to WinLink and WoAD so I could need to change a setting.

Do you have a session running when you send the mesage to your outbox?
If you do, the message may get sent right away(?)

Strange. WoAD 1.5.22 has been flawless for me, but I use GrapheneOS so not exactly apples-to-apples. How much free space on your Galaxy?

Does it include the message id, like it should say something like

>> Message GHECQKW7TK5U has been posted to the Outbox

There has been an error when it only said "Message null has been posted
to the Outbox" - I'm not sure if that is relevant though.

Nope, that's not normal. I cannot reproduce this on my woad installation.

It looks like the Android Store does only have version 1.5.22 from 2025
in there (at least on my phone).

There is a newer version on the WoAD website, you could try the newer
version by installing it directly - but I'm not sure if that will solve
your problem as the changelog does not look like it addressed such a bug.

The link to the newer version announcement is this:

Thank you for all the questions and suggestions!

* I think the "message posted to Outbox" includes a message ID, but I'll make sure to look carefully in the future

* I don't have a session running when this happens (and I did check Sent to make sure the 'disappearing' message didn't get sent)

* Good question on the phone storage, I assumed it had plenty but should have checked before posting. It does  (77G free)

Otherwise, by the way, as a WinLink newbie, WoAD and Android has been by far my best performance experience using WinLink with my new BTECH UV-Pro HT (I also tried my iPad and my PC). So if I have to save to Drafts to make it work I guess that's the way to go. But I'll try again and see what the "Message posted to Outbox" says.
