Hi Amy,
Could you please pass this along.
I am offering up my ex- mounted patrol horse for free lease until September - October.
He is 15 hand, light build TWH Cross. Completed the NYS mounted patrol academy in 2023. He was the smallest in the department, think of him as the little engine that could. He loves trails and attention. He has done parades, and really needs a job. He is a
little trippy in behind (He has been looked at by Cornell...I spent $1300 for them to tell me God built him bad). He is gaited, and does well with it. I don't canter or gallop him, unless it was an emergency we responded too. I would not call him a beginner
horse because he doesn't have much fear and he likes having a partner who knows what their doing. He will test you.
Sadly, last June I got into a deer vs motorcycle accident and wasnt able to ride. And now thanks to a horse and buggy accident, I still cant ride. So he has had a year off, and its just not fair to him. I ride him in a bareback pad, which you are welcome to
borrow or use any tack I have. With all my accidents, I cant handle the financial burden of him and my other horse who I am also trying to lease.
Make no mistake, this boy is my HEART horse and I love him to the moon and back. It breaks my heart to even be writing this email but I have to do what is best for him and he needs a job until I can get back on my feet. And I don't want all our hard work for
mounted work and search and rescue to go down the drain. He needs to go to a good home for a few months, where he will get lots of love, attention and time that I just can't give him with a shattered knee cap and being stuck on crutches. In the past, I tried
having friends ride but no one can make consistent time to ride which is what I am looking for, for him.
We are in Conesus, and I'd like him to stay within an hour away so i can at least visit once im able to drive. He is free while you have him, but you do have financial responsibility while he is in your care: Feed, board, trimming, and any vet bills if something
happens to him.
