I don't listen to either Wease or Howard Stern. However what I know Wease
as a person, I like. Generally Wease has slightly off-color show that seem
to in touch with his listeners. I don't know how well Wease would do in a
national marker. Me purely a Rocheter personality. Stern on the other hand
is a national personality and has to play well in Philly as well. What I
like about Wease, is that he does support his community and does wade into
issues when he sees fit. For that he gets my respect, just not my
listenership. Heck the last radio personality I listened to on a regular
basis was Jack Slattery.

there has long been a debate over Stern and Wease I also do not listen to
either, but there is no comparison.Wease is boring to me...I used to be an
avid listener of his....way back when he still played some music. but he
now thinks he is entertaining enough to listen to him talk on and on for 5
hours..and the truth is...NO...Wease does not have the appeal he once
had...Stern is big time now and Wease will always be small potatoes. WCMF
needs to wake up in the morning and find a way to get listeners back...and
it does not lie in hearing someone talk...lets hear some good rock and
roll!!!

Well David perhaps we are of the same generation then. Do you recall the
likes of Bob Mills, Tom Decker, and Eddie Meath ? :-)

I would imagine all of the people who would post here would be of the same
generation. add a few names to your list like Jack Palvino, Ferdinand Jay,
Joel Loy.etc....

I'm aging myself here, but what about Tom George? He was a DJ on WBBF when
I was 12 or 13 and I was MADLY IN LOVE with him. Now he does traffic on
some station or another, and I see him at events and scratch my head
because he used to be so hot and now he looks like this old guy.

It was Ferdy Jay that whet my whistle, and I hung on to his every word and
hated to miss hearing him in the evening. Jack Palvino was also a heart
throb, :-) until I found out that I went to school with his niece, he came
to school once and I saw that he was ........ very old and large.

I still have a difficult time dealing with the fact that the voices and the
personality never come close to matching the faces and lifestyles. :-(
Reality is a bitter pill to swallow.

But Ferdy still sounds just as good as when he wasn't Danny W.'s best
advertising buddy and not being made a millionaire by him. 'Fact, I liked
the old Ferdinand Jay better. It's a shame what money does to a person.

Wease? Not a peep shall I utter lest I start again getting
............... !!!
[I'm more the RPO type].

The rest of the names are in my repertoire as well, though Joel Loy was not
a favorite. Tom George was one of my favorites, as were most of the WBBF
clan. Many are still around, Matt Rinaldi, amongst others.

But I digress.........

Oh my gosh, I was 18 years old when this thread started. I remember the feud between Wease and Stern back then and I listened to them both. When I was home sick from school I would always listen to Wease on WCMF and when I got older I'd tune in to Stern on 95.1. I still listen to both of them, some mornings I lisen to Wease on the iHeart radio app and Stern on SiriusXM 100.

I found this threat just kinda Googling the feud between the two and it popped up. I wondered if I posted here if anyone would still get the notification. Let's see...It's only been 25 years...
