Maine's Dept. of Inland Fisheries & Wildlife today announced that
White-Nose Syndrome has been confirmed after observing fungus on bat
at two sites in Oxford County Maine. Though it is the first
confirmation of WNS in the state of Maine, the announcement doesn't
push its boundaries any further as there are already WNS-positive
sites in Canada that are both farther North and farther East. The
announcement states that Maine has only a few hibernacula.
