Today on WNN, we once again saw that anchovies rank at the bottom of pizza toppings.
I've found that combining them with TOMATOES and ONIONS (what I call the
GOLDEN TRIO) tends to counteract the saltiness of the anchovies, and allows
the extreme UMAMI of the anchovies to enhance the vegetables. There may
be other good combinations, but this is my current favorite.

P.S. Anyone who thinks anchovies are the worst pizza topping probably hasn't tried
SARDINES (ecch, IMHO) :-)
