... in the vast majority of the US, Jeopardy! (and that
other program) is/are carried on the local ABC affiliate
(although that term is a lot looser than it used to be).

The usual battle is between those areas where Jeopardy!
is shown at 7 pm or at 7:30 pm (with that other show
taking the other half hour).

Here in Flyover, MI (extended Detroit area), it's
carried by the the NBC affilite, WDIV, channel 4.

Why does this matter? Because the ABC one, WXYZ,
is owned by Scripps, which is fighting a finance
battle with Xfinity/Comcast cable, and... has
killed the feed.

Fortunately there's just about nothing else that
WXYZ normally broadcasts I'd have any interest in.

obwnn: They're an EXTREMELY EVIL affiliate. Not
only do they only show the last hour, but they
use the earlier time slots to repear "Live with
Regis and Kathy Lee", *plus*, misc half hour
commercials (tonight's scheduled one is Cindy
Crawford promoting a skin treatment)

Someone with too much time on their hands keeps track of this, and there’s no majority. If you look at it by the number of potential viewers, ABC affiliates have a plurality (39.6% of the U.S.), but if you look at the raw number of affiliates, it’s on more CBS and NBC affiliates (72 and 71) than ABC (51). https://jeopardy.mattcarberry.com/stations.html#network

Now that episodes are available on Hulu and Peacock the next day (for about a week after they air), this is a bit less important than it used to be.

what's even more amusing is that standard Jeopardy! is
carried in this area by the NBC affiliate, but Celebrity
Jeopardy! (and perhaps some of the other specialties)
are broadcast on the ABC one.

sigh
