TCM has shown "Zero Hour" and "Airplane!" back-to-back at least once. When you watch "Zero Hour," you definitely have a lot of "Ohhhh, that's why they did what they did in 'Airplane!'" moments. (For example, in "Zero Hour," the first officer is portrayed by football player Elroy "Crazylegs" Hirsch, hence Zucker/Abrahams/Zucker specifically casting a sports figure in the role.)
