Brian Stelter @brianstelter A second memo from Bari Weiss and Tom
Cibrowski says CBS News Radio is shutting down. Here's the memo: Today,
we informed our CBS News Radio team and approximately 700 affiliated
stations that we will end the service on May 22, 2026. Unfortunately,
this decision means that all positions within the CBS News Radio team are
being eliminated. We understand how difficult this news is for our staff
and their colleagues, who have worked side by side with us to cover some
of the most significant stories of our time.

It appears local stations, such as KCBS and KNX, will not be affected, except for. O top of the hour newscast.

unknown (as per a chat I just had with WWJ, News radio 950, Detroit)
is what happens with the local reports that were being sent out
over the national network. For example, we just heard a weather
related Calif local snippet...

I know KNX and KCBS started simulcasting overnight programming recently.

Waiting to hear from a college friend who lost his job when WCBS ceased broadcasting, only to get hired at KCBS, where he's morning anchor now.

We (WAKR Akron OH) are one of those affiliates. I have no idea what they will do in May. Some flavor of ABC still available in the market?

There's a hefty amount of Bloomberg filler available....
