disclosure: I'm an acquantance of the CEO, a NY gazillionaire who's
very prominent in RW circles. No financial or other ties, although
he did invite me to his table at NYC's "Inner Circle" event about
15 years ago.

What's not to trust from folks bringing you Rita Cosby, Larry Kudlow,
Rockin' the Decades with Tony Orlando. Trump 2.00, Jeanine Perrero and Roger
Stone?

On the other hand... Red Apple Media also gives us Tony Orlando
and... Cousin Brucie giving us a throwback to
"Music Radio W-A-B-C"
on Saturday nights.

All I know about John Catsimatidis is that, when he threatened to move to New Jersey and close his grocery stores in Manhattan if Zohran Mamdani won the mayoral election, every single New Yorker on Bluesky talked about how awful the stores are and offered to help him pack.

As the resident radio guy here...

I have not heard of any affiliates so far, outside WABC/Red Apple itself. Most stations are moving to ABC, including all the Audacy big market ex-CBS O&O all news stations and, well, us (WAKR/Akron).

Red Apple did hire at least four ex-CBS radio newsies, though.

A relief to know it's WWNN, not WNN, which would've messed with the YKW.

Meanwhile, hearing KCBS and KNX will switch affiliations to ABC when CBS Radio bites the dust in a week or so.

WWJ here in flyover, MI, is Audacy. They've been announcing that CBS
will go bye bye and they'll no longer play the <sfx CBS intro music>
on the hour, but they're 9wwj) not going anywhere and will continue
providing all the news that's fit to print. Or something.

They haven't said what they'll be using in another 27 hours for
national/internation feeds, but we'll find out real soon.

(They've got a LOT of Bloomberg, so maybe?)

Here's the Audacy stations that have or will make the switch to ABC. But more important, do we need a  polka here?

It will be, if they haven't switched already, ABC. It's one of the Audacy all-newsers.
