In the (only!!!) half hour segment my local BAD AFFILIATE,
WXYZ, Detroit [a], showed this (Fri) morning, they had a
misc news announcement that..

that Ken Jennings will be joining Jeopardy! as (some position
like "assistant producer" - I don't recall the exact term)
and that he'd be introducing bunches of categories.

I guess that's similar to the way, I dunno, Carol Merril
would be next to the Luxemberg waterfront giving clues
about the bridges, etc.

On The Twitter, people have been rumoring for months now
that Jennings will be taking over for Art Fleming when
the time comes.

[a] they didn't even show The Polka!

And yes, I've just written to both them and to WNN central..

If it makes you feel any better, since "Jeopardy!" runs on a different station in Detroit, it effectively turned into promotion for the competition.

His title is going to be "consulting producer," which I believe is most often used as a synonym for "occasionally writes some stuff for the show, but doesn't really have to show up at the office."

I highly recommend the podcast that he co-hosts with musician John Roderick, in which they take a deep dive into a trivial topic twice a week: https://www.omnibusproject.com

Eyup, WXYZ is ABC, while Jeopardy! runs on WDIV, which is
under the NBC umbrella. Kind of.
