I had blissfully forgotten abut that show until I just
looked it up and was painfully reminded...

(And yes, I watched The Flintstones in its original airings,
and I suspect many others here did, too).
Oh, speaking of which, a BIG FUCK YOU to MeTV. Yes, they're
broadcasting the show, but:
a: cutting out ten or so minutes for more commercials
b: completely dropped some episodes 'cuz "PC" [1]
c: replaced the intro/outro [2] in the first season
and pasted in the one from later seasons, which is
as evil as would be doing similar garbage to
Gilligan's Island or The Mary Tyler Moore Show,
and for no good reason whatsover [3]
[1] 'An episode of "The Flintstones" in which Fred and
Barney refer to two Arab characters who show up in
Bedrock as "towelheads" has been excised. "Fred
Flintstone will never be heard saying that on MeTV,"
Sabin said.'

[2] I picked up on this when the intro for a season one episode
had Pebbles and Bamm Bamm. (Not so sure about changes
in the outro). On checking further, I found that
one of the other retro channels had the real ones,
which I noted had Fred stopping in his commute to
let a fire truck/dino pass by
[3] I trust y'all know the differences between the first
season and the later ones for these shows. Extra
credit for the first Gilligan's episode...
