KNX-FM, Los Ang, ending its quasi-cast of "all news", KNX-AM

In NYC, about two years ago WINS AM 1010 began quasi-casting
on 92.3 FM. They use the term "simulcast" but in reality
it's sometimes the same feed, while at others they mix
and match the stories.

I'm "guessing" the same went on in LA, but whatever.

The KNX-FM simulcast of 1070 was nearly full time, though they started splitting the feed early Sunday morning to run some infomercial programs only on the AM. 

 

Wonder what happens to that programming after the FM goes away...

KNX and KCBS have been simulcasting between midnight and 5 the last couple of months, with adjustments for traffic and weather together on the 8s and sports at 15 and 45.

I'm never up that late these days, but I read somewhere that there are no "adjustments" -- they just put the traffic, weather, and sports for both L.A. and San Francisco on the same broadcast.

Supposedly out of the KCBS studios. If you hear my former KFBK co-worker Bryan Goebel, that would confirm the SF location.
