To further clarify this whole "googlegroup" issue.......
The original email you should have received from "googlegroups" was an invitation only. It requires you to accept the invitation before you actually join the group and start receiving the emails. Once you accept the invitiation then you automatically receive every email that all of the groups members send out. If this group email system isn't abused, it can be a great way to connect/share with people. But, it can also be a pain when endless group emails fill your inbox!
The easiest way to unsubscribe from this group is to send an email following the address below. If, at some point, you want to rejoin the group, use the same address but substitute subscribe instead of unsubscribe.

Since this is my work email, I would love to have only one daily email summary. Could somebody tell me the website address to go to in order to change my settings? (I don’t have a gmail address and when I signed up, the system never asked me to set a password or anything so I’m hoping it will be somehow possible to access my account setting.)

You could try the "Manage Your Subscriptions"
link either from "Profile" or "My Account" if you
haven't already done.
