The West Nile Educational Trust Fund invites applications for scholarship for students seeking to do Bachelors course in one of the professional fields below from any of the following public universities in Uganda; Makerere University Kampala, Mbarara University of Science and Technology, Kyambogo University, Gulu University, Busitema University, Makerere University Business School and Muni University.
All applicants must prove that they meet the following requirements to be considered for the scholarship.
1. Must have excelled in National entry examination of Uganda Advanced Certificate Examination (UACE) 2018 making them qualify to be admitted for any of the following courses;
a) Bachelor of Human Medicine and Surgery,
b) Bachelor of Pharmacy,
c) Bachelor in Engineering,
d) Bachelor of Law,
e) Bachelor of Nursing,
f) Bachelors of Social Work and Social Administration,
g) Bachelors in Information & Communication Technology,
h) Bachelors of Science in Education
i) Bachelors of Science in Architecture.
2. Must have been admitted on private sponsorship as first year student in any
of the public universities listed above.
3. Agree to be a grantor of the Trust Fund after completing studies and obtaining gainful employment by signing a bonding agreement.
4. Be unable to fully or partially pay tuition fees for the entry into any of the three listed public universities above.
In addition to the above requirements factors such as consistency in performance, discipline, extracurricular talents, leadership and interest of the student will be considered.
The applicants must be in a position to demonstrate these by providing proof and or recommendations.
Qualified students who meet all the above requirements should submit their applications to:
The Chairman, Board of Trustees, West Nile Education Trust Fund and drop their applications at WHO Building, Plot 60, Prince Charles Drive, Kololo, Kampala C/O Draecabo Charles or to the receiving desks of the following Bus Companies: Gaagaa Offices on William Street, California Bus service on Johnson Street, Nile Coach Bus Services on Johnson Street, KKT Coaches, Arua Park and Zawadi Bus Services in Namayiba Bus terminal.
The upcountry applications may also be delivered to the upcountry offices of the Bus companies listed in the West Nile Region as they have been notified.
The central collection point will be WHO Building on Prince Charles Drive.
Please ensure that your application is properly sealed and contains the following; Application letter with email and phone contacts, Admission form from the University, Recommendation letters from your LC 1 Chairperson and Religious Leader of your Community Church/Mosque, Photocopy of the O and A level result slips, National Identity Card and Birth Certificate.
The closing date for applications is 16th August 2019.
NOTE: This is a competitive offer (ONLY SIX SCHOLARSHIPS) and West Nile Education Trust Fund is under no obligation to offer it to any applicant who meets partial or all the requirements.
Applicants will be shortlisted and interviewed by the Scholarship Committee using set criteria according to the Articles of Association of the Trust Fund.
