INTEGRATING IITB-LDAP WITH MUTT

You need to install python-ldap. Either use `sudo -E pip install ldap` or your package manager.

Download this script and keep it in ~/.mutt` folder. Add the following line in `~/.muttrc` file.

set query_command = "~/.mutt/mutt-ldap.py '%s'"

Make sure that you have right file named in this line.

Now when composing an email in mutt. In "To:" section, type part of name and press Ctrl+T.
Mutt will send the name to ldap server and show you available email ids. Pick one and you are done.

Some fragments of names are very common. For these fragments, ldap returns too many email ids or fails after
raising an exception. Try searching something less uncommon in their names e.g. prefer 'dilawar' over 'singh'.

As long as ldap alive, no need to search or store email ids. Checkout abook too.

All mail clients suck. This one just sucks less. -- Mutt slogan
