IRC for within IITB

Hi guys,

I've been trying to find a good IRC client for days now. There seem to be issues with the proxy thing. Can anyone suggest me a good irc client [tried and tested] which works good with the IITB proxy?

Netmon blocks port 6667, there's no way to make a chat client "work" with netmon. You need to bypass it.

Your options:

 - Use webchat.freenode.net for freenode chat

 - Tunnel out via Tor and set up your client to use a SOCKS5 proxy on port 9150

 - Tunnel out via SSH and tell your client to use the SOCKS proxy (shell access required)

 - SSH to an outside computer and use irssi (this is what I do, but you need shell access to an outside computer)
