Controlling car via API : Tesla Model S

For many reasons, the Tesla Model S has been in the news and many times hitting the top 2 spots on hacker news. 

For one thing, Elon Musk is the man behind it - purportedly the next Steve Jobs. 

Second its an electric car but all powerful - more like a sport sedan. 0 to 60mph in 4s they say. 

For us the most interesting part is that it can be controlled via an API http://docs.timdorr.apiary.io/ making it possible to do things like lock/unlock using your phone, change temperature automatically based on outside temperature, etc.
