Please go through the following project floated by Prof. Debjani Paul of
BSBE dept. Please note that the project has a tight deadline.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hello,

Our lab has developed a mobile microscope to detect certain blood-related
disorders. The microscope (along with a microfluidic device) will be used
in rural areas without advanced healthcare facilities. We have tested the
microscope with samples from patients during field visits. It can capture
images of blood smears, which are then transferred to a computer for
image processing (essentially running various shape detection algorithms).
We would like to develop an android interface so that the entire process
can be carried out on the phone itself. The project has been funded by
the Gates Foundation under their grand challenges program. We are
looking for an intern/student to work on this project for ~2 months
(starting immediately). The details are given below.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Microfluidics and Biological Physics Lab, Department of Biosciences
and Bioengineering, is looking for an intern to develop native applications
for android-based devices, implement image processing algorithms using
OPENCV SDKs for android, establish coding standards, prepare documentation
and test reports, perform regular code updates/patches, and package
software for deployment. The applicant must have strong Java and
Android SDK development skills, know at least one control system (e.g.,
Git, Mercurial etc.), and possess a solid understanding of the entire
mobile development life cycle. Please send an email to Prof. Debjani Paul
(debjan...@iitb.ac.in) with a CV (PDF file only).

Many thanks in advance.
Best wishes,

Debjani
