WNCDGA '09 Minutes

Meeting came to order: 7pm

In Attendance: Thom Williams, Linda Williams, Tera Broughton, JR
Ghosthorse, Ron and Debbie from Oregon, Joe Reynard, Nate Kellar,
Jason Urroz, James Nichols, John Thelen.

* Oct'09 Minutes approved
* Financial Report approved
* Ace Hole#9 Kevin Vest $100- Congratulations.
* Ace Pool $100 Ace Fund $245
* 1st Ted Williams Memorial- JR and Tera brought info and asked
for input. Nov. 21st 8-9am Registration, 10am teeoff, 2nd round to
follow, Singles, $10, 4 Divisions, Raffle for beautiful artwork- $5 or
5 tickets for $20- Drawing will be on Nov22nd @ High Noon. Call JR for
more info and raffle tickets- 216.0848.
* WNCDGA will be sponsoring event. Thank you JR and Tera.
* A number of club members will be assisting JR and Tera the day
of the event.
* RH2 Grant Proposal- The board has approved the application for
the Buncombe County Parks, Greenways, and Recreation Services
Community Grant Program 2009-2010.
* RH2 Joint Grant Applications- The board has approved working
with Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation- Kids in Parks in submitting two
applications for $5,000 each to complete a disc golf course at
Richmond Hill.
* WNCDGA will continue to foster a relationship with Blue Ridge
Parkway Foundation- Kids in Parks to maintain RH2 as an Interpretive
Nature Disc Golf Course. Satement has been approved.
* Congratulations to JR Ghosthorse who has won the Scorecard
Artwork Contest. JR will receive a free club membership and
recognition on the card.
* The scorecard has been approved and will be available by Nov.
21st 2009.
* WNCDGA business cards are now available. See Joe Reynard.
* RH1 Teesigns- Joe Reynard and Jason Urroz to bring ideas to
board.
* College Scholarship Fund- Ideas were brought forth on how to
fund the program. Tee sign sponsorship, a calendar, and a spring
tournament were among the ideas. Please send other ideas to Joe
Reynard.
* Bag Tag '09 Tournament- Dec. 5th and 6th. 8-9am Registration.
10am teeoff. 9 hole match play. Bring your tag and play for cash for
free.The course will be closed for this event.
* Reusable course closure signs to be created by Joe Reynard.
* Any disc golf event needing RH to be closed must go through Joe
Reynard so he can inform Asheville Parks/Rec. It is the TDs
responsibility to contact Joe.
* Winter Warrior Points Series- begins at RH this Sunday Nov. 8th
@ 2pm. 1 round of singles. Divisions. Payout. Call Meredith Nichols
for more info 778.8775.
* Check wncdiscgolf.com calendar for more area events.
* WNCDGA to develop a relationship with the Asheville Ultimate
Club for better event scheduling coordination.
* Next meeting Dec.1st 7pm @ 97 Courtland Ave.
