Bikini Bike Wash--TOMORROW!

Hey, all!

The Bikini Bike Wash is tomorrow.

Halley was the Volunteer Coordinator, but she's too ill to do it--so you get ME!

The Bikini Bike Wash is tomorrow from 4-8pm. Please come as early as
you can manage.

Bring your bathing suit, your smile, and something to keep you... hydrated.

Aaron from A Better Cycle will show up around 4:30pm to show people
how to REALLY clean bikes (properly).

We'll have at least 3 levels of clean--
fully penetrating lube - complete wash $20
rim job -just washing the wheels $10
quick n dirty - spritz and go $5

We've already gotten one request (by Ethan Jewett) to offer to clean
someones' bike while the rider is still on it... ...

We'll need people to stand on the sidewalk with signs, wash bikes, dry
bikes, lube chains, do minor bike maintenance (if that's their thing),
take money, and smile. We'll all probably do all of these things at
some point.

If you have a specialty skill--like you are a MADDDD LUBE EXPERT or
loooooooooooooooove to pump tires---bring your favorite tool and skill
to share.

We'll have lube and rags and water and soap.

And--WHY are we raising money? Because it costs almost $3,000 to host
a FREE bike ride.

Here's the cost brake down from last year's event:

Lease $600.

Fire Permit 250.

Noise Permit 75.

Security 700.

Porta Potties 550.

Artwork 200.

Entertainment 200.

Total $2575.

There are going to be fun booths (like BIKEASAURUS!), a maintenance
stand, and MAYBE EVEN CLEVER CYCLE'S BICYCLE TUB. Crank My Chain
might even be there filming the event.

The Bikini Bike Wash started at the Clown House. The tradition was
picked up by the Irondelles who did rad stuff with the event. Now
it's OURS!
