Hello - won't be at the meeting tomorrow so here are my comments...

- set-up seemed to be smooth and most stalls in the right location. The bar had been put up further down than usual on the 'wrong' side of the tree, which would have been a squeeze if we'd had 2 community stalls in the space, but as we only had one it was fine.

- Traders attaching backs to the railings raised the attention of Gladiators, as they had been told this was not allowed. However, I think this is something to review, as lack of shade on the west side of the churchyard has been a problem in the summer months and we've even had a trader pack up early because the food temperature was at an unsafe level, and others have been requesting to be put on the other side of the site where there is more shade.
Most traders are used to using a 3x3 gazebo to fit all their equipment inside, and many of the newer traders perhaps bring a lot more gear than in the 'old days', so they can't comfortably fit into a 3x2m space.
- Teresa and I discussed and we agreed that traders could on that occasion attach the backs to railings as long as it was using velcro loops or bungees on the corners, so that it wasn't at risk of tearing the fabric itself. This isn't likely to be such a problem in autumn but we do need to think about the shade issue again come next summer.

- Water point: the leak has gone but the manhole cover is sealed shut rather than loose like it used to be - we need one of those metal pole gadgets Thames Water use to open it. Do we have a TW contact or someone at Lambeth who could help? (bearing in mind Lambeth contractors presumably use that point to water the churchyard, if they ever do water it).

- Footfall was very busy once we got to lunchtime, though these days it seems to be much quieter for the first two hours than it used to be, I've never seen it look so quiet at 11. As we had the full house of 21 stalls this month we were at our peak in terms of numbers of food stalls, and we may possibly drop down to 20 next month if the feeling is that traders did less well overall.

- Great entertainment with the folk band and Like Minded Fools among others, great support from everyone including Sadie who got stuck in straight away as a new volunteer (I didn't meet her husband, as I'd left by then) - hope that take down went smoothly.

Cheers,
Alison

Hi,

Just a few thoughts on the set up partly as I'm away next month...….

Tryptichs (7) - these go out on the Thursday before FEAST and as 2 or 3 are knackered I take some string along to secure them

Chairs - unless any specific requirements I assume Fresh & Green 3, HQ 5 and Retro/Artisans/WNHLC 10 each.  It helps at the end of the day to count them back in as they get scattered.

A-Boards - we now have boards for all Hubs and I also dropped off to Artisans an extra small A-blackboard

Fresh & Green - the green matting has gone missing and I didn't deliver the hanging signage as I wasn't sure if Colin had a ladder spare to hang them.

Thanks, Sunil. Two things for the Artisans’ area, in particular Tea and Talk: we did not have chairs enough at T&T, we had five, not six as usual and had quite a few people who wanted to sit down, so we kept on borrowing a chair and bringing it back from the children’s table. Could we have 6 or even 8 next time? There was one more table than usual, which was fine, but we would need some extra chairs as well. Also, the parasol came late and we had to use the water which was meant for drinks, to fill the base. So we had to buy water from the shop for our drinks. Is it possible to have it filled by those setting up or do you know another possibility to keep it firm?

Thanks!

Hetty

We only have a finite number of chairs, I will have to ask Steering if we can buy more.

Sorry about the base, I don’t think it was filled in the months before as it wasn’t windy - I thought the tattoo shop gave us water? Hopefully it will be back to normal October weather next month and no need for a parasol. I can reimburse you for any expenses via the feast petty cash, let me know how much.

Hi I know that Rosemary fills enough urns for the day. But the tattoo shop used to fill them for us. So I’m sure they will let us have done for the parasol.
