Hey DJs,

As a helpful reminder, here are a few things to keep in mind while hosting your radio show:

  • When you are ready to start your show, simply mute "CD 2" (aka channel 7-8).  No need to adjust the CD player.
  • After your show wraps up, unmute CD 2 and be sure that we are still broadcasting before you leave

To play iPod, laptop or any audio device with a headphone jack (1/8"):
  1. Make sure the iPod channel is muted (the "Mute" button should be depressed)
  2. With the volume on the iPod turned all the way up and paused, connect the iPod to the board with the appropriate cord.
  3. Unmute the channel and hit play, then adjust volume to desired level making sure the "Clip" lights on the Line 6 external sound card are never red.
To play a CD using station equipment:
  1. Preferably use the one labeled "CD Player 1," which is the single CD changer
  2. While the channel is muted, prep CD player as usual
  3. Unmute, hit play and then adjust volume to desired level making sure the "Clip" lights on the Line 6 external sound card are never red.
To use mics 1-3:
  1. Unmute channel and adjust volume
  2. Always mute mic channels when you are done and be sure to keep the in house speakers turned down while mics are in use to avoid feedback
A few final reminders:
  • Please don't adjust other controls on the soundboard
  • To adjust volume in the booth, use the volume knob labeled "CTL ROOM/SUBMIX"
  • Avoid adjusting "MAIN MIX," instead use the individual volume controls for each corresponding channel
  • Before leaving the station always 1) Make sure we are still broadcasting and at an appropriate volume, 2)Turn off the in house speakers using the switches on the back of each speaker, 3) Turn off lights, 4) Always close and make sure the door is locked when you leave
If there are ever any issues while you are at the station, don't hesitate to contact one of the officers for help.  Both mine and Jeremy's contact information are in the station to the left of the board.

Thanks,

Olivia Scott
