Now that I've gotten your attention, this is a reminder about a station cleaning session that will begin tomorrow at 12 pm. It's a good way to get to see all of the stuff we have in our little closet in the hall. We'll also be ripping cds to our new hard drive and playing some good songs for all. Might be food from your loving station manager (that's me!). So please, stop by and take some time to help your fellow DJ's. Yay for people being social!
Second, at the request of our librarian, I am starting my angry letter mode.
When it comes to the speakers in the radio station, when your show is over and there isn't anyone who is immediately going to be in the station after you, then please turn the speakers off with the switch on their backs. If they get left on without anyone attending to them, they will overheat and will become a fire hazard. I will be looking out for this and will remind anyone who I see leaving (or in this instance, have left) them on.
Also, at the meeting, we implemented a new rule that was around last year but we have not carried on until now. As a DJ, you can miss only 3 meetings. Any more, then your name will be taken off of the key list until you speak to myself (the station manager) about what we can do to correct this. There are cases that are accepted, such as being in a class, or a sick day. Both are understandable, but those people who have missed many of our meetings last semester have also missed out on important information (and chances for us to know your names). Remember, new 3 strike rule.
To summarize:
1) Station cleanup at 12 pm tomorrow (Saturday, January 22, 2011).
2) Turn speakers off before you leave the station.
3) Three strike rule for meetings. You miss three, you're out until you talk to me.
