This Wednesday, November 28, the College Dems from WMU and all over the state will go to Lansing for the first ever "Paint it Blue."
This event is a finger food dinner reception exclusively for College Dems, state legislators, policy makers and major influencers. There will only be 50-100 college student attending, so it will be a great chance for all of us to interact directly with our elected officials.
The event is from 5-7:30 in the Governors room at 121 W. Allegan in Lansing. We will have a carpool leaving at 4:15 from the Bernhard Center (were meeting at the Bronco Mall entrance. Although you don't have to RSVP for the event, you do for the carpool. If you haven't already sent in you RSVP, please do so to

Board Positions: As announced at our last meeting, the Jon and Alyssa will be leaving the Executive Board (Jon is going oversees and Alyssa will be teaching) as of next semester. We will be having nominations beginning tomorrow night at 8pm in person (at the meeting) or through e-mail (
wmu...@gmail.com). Nominations will go through Friday, November 30 at 11:59pm and all nominees will be listed by on google groups by Sunday, December 2 at noon. The election will take place at the start of the December 3 meeting, the last one of the semester.
Meetings: Remember that our meetings are on Mondays at 8pm in room 213. We have one tomorrow and one on December 3. We will not have any meetings during finals week or break, but will resume when we return to school on January 7. This will be just 8 days prior to the Michigan primary! War in Iraq Debate: No final reschedule date, however it looks like the College Dems will be going face to face with the College Republicans sometime at the end of January. We hope to have a finalized date before break begins.
Education Forum: We have finalized a date for our spring forum on Education in America and the Economic Impact. It will be on April 3. The guests and location should be finalized and announced over break!
