First Games this weekend!

Hi All,
   I know that the season is starting fast, and we are excited to get going. We've had a lot of students come out and we are still trying to assign teams. We should have the teams posted by Friday morning so the students can check them. However, until then all students should fill out a grade sheet to be turned in this week since we have games this weekend! Wow, that came up fast. Unfortunately I made plans to take Quinn out of town this weekend. Sorry to say he will miss the first game. He should be good to go for the rest of the season though, various school concerts notwithstanding.

Hey all,
   I am going to try and email out the teams tonight via this email, but it probably won't happen until about 9:30 or 10pm. I would appreciate it if you could share the info with any new parents via a forwarded email, phone call, or text tomorrow in case the students don't check their teams or forget to tell their parents so that everyone knows what game they should be at on Saturday. Thanks, and sorry for filling your inbox!

I noticed that each of the teams will only be practicing one day a week. Autumn - would it be possible to organize an informal practice on the other day so that the players get some more time on the field? This could involve some volunteers to lead/assist so that the coaches can fully focus on two teams at a time.

 

Also, I think that many of us were assuming that with two days a week our students could qualify for PE waivers. Does anyone know if this would still be the case with a single day of practice?

I did not get the list of team assignments. Can you tell me which team Ben Kass-Mullet is on? Depending on the time, he may miss Saturday's game due to a soccer team conflict.

Ideally we would have a few more volunteer parents on Tuesdays and Thursdays do all 4 teams could practice both days.   The only reason we need to limit practices is that we don't have enough adult help.  We may start asking kids to come early to games so we can atleast a couple drills.

 It's possible I could commit to helping out on Tuesdays. That said, I know practically nothing about the game, so I would be basically an adult to stand there and make sure they don't hurt themselves... I haven't offered until now, but I know Peter and co have played all summer with out a coach, so with some guidance I imagine they could continue in that respect. 

Anyway.... Let me know if that is at all useful.

Jude is correct. We would like to go back to two days a week, but the choice right now is either one day a week or 40 students are cut from the teams. The students could organize their own practice on the days they aren't doing anything, but it can't be near where the other team practices or we could lose the program. I would love any more parent help, but there are some steps to take. PLEASE, speak to Pam, Jude, or myself this weekend. As to the PE waiver, I don't have the answer.
