Hi, WMHIC!

You might see this come through on some of the regional and national lists you are on, but I wanted to share it to encourage you to take a few minutes to participate. Full disclosure: Kawanna and I worked together at University of Texas at San Antonio. I also participated in a cognitive interview with Kawanna and Mónica as they were developing this survey to offer feedback and suggestions.

Take care,

Ellen

Invitation to Participate:

Calling All Academic Liaison Librarians (former and current):

We are Dr. Kawanna Bright and Dr. Mónica Colón-Aguirre, Assistant Professors of Library Science at East Carolina University. We are conducting an investigation into the support for the academic library liaison role in the Library and Information Science (LIS) Master’s level curriculum. We are interested in determining whether academic librarians with liaison responsibilities feel their LIS education supported or prepared them for the work and expectations of being a liaison; identifying which LIS courses are the most useful for the liaison role; and identifying what aspects of the liaison role are not supported by LIS programs’ curriculum.

If you identify as an academic librarian who has liaison responsibilities (past or current), we would like to invite you to participate in our study by completing a survey.

If you choose to participate, you will be asked to complete a short survey that asks you about your liaison role, your LIS education, and your perceptions on your preparation to be a liaison.  This survey is expected to take between 10 and 15 minutes to complete.

Participation in this study is completely voluntary.  You can choose to complete the survey or not, and may choose to stop the survey and leave the study at any time. If you would like to participate in the study, please use this link to access the survey: https://ecu.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_6mWYmmtBPhaiXZ3

If you are not a liaison librarian but know of someone who is, please feel free to share this invitation with them.

If you have any questions about the study, please e-mail us directly at brigh...@ecu.edu or colonag...@ecu.edu

Thank you in advance for your interest.

Sincerely,
