Nick I have a window air conditioner that I could give you guys. Unfortunately I'm not coming in Monday Ray's going to cover me. But if you want it let me know and I can load it into my truck and I'll head into town but there's no way I'll be able to move that upstairs. Right up to get some of them younger energetic persons to help he's actually no way I'll be able to do that. Let me know what your thoughts. 617-240-5372. Would good for a temporary solution for now. D in reference to that stux CD you're going to have to take that deck out of the mounting bracket and take the deck apart it's easy just take the screws out and it should slide apart. And remove it that way I think I did that many years ago on the same matter. Happy fourth I hope you had a good time d

That would be awesome if you could donate a window AC unit to the station! I was planning on having some ops people come into the station on Wednesday afternoon to work on some stuff so if you’re able to drop it off around then we could carry it up into the station. If not, let me know and we can coordinate another time! Thanks

Sebastiann

Sebastian it works perfectly it's a nice little unit. If you want we can get together tonight it's not too heavy but I wouldn't want to move it upstairs myself. You want to meet tonight I'll come in after the traffic cuz I live probably 30 miles north. But I don't mind coming down after traffic let me know. And if you want I can bring up screw gun and a couple of screws I'm not sure how you want to mount it into the window I don't remember if the windows are wooden or what we have to be careful drilling into that stuff. Let me know what your thoughts are. It's a nice unit I tell you I check everything it's nice I cleaned it nice clean the filter it's ready to go.

Sebastian I forgot to ask you again, I have a restaurant who would like us to do a live broadcast August 9th. Can we do that I did one time many years ago and Topsfield on an opening of a barn Co-op. But this is going to be a big event August 9th it's going to be a puppy adoption type event I'll be doing the music but they would love to have us broadcast a show from there I think it's a great idea for us I think it will build up some publicity for the radio station. Let me know your thoughts or put me in the right track I'm not sure who I would contact. We should work on that soon though because it's August 9th will be sneaking up on us.

Hey - I’ve got some stuff going on this evening, but if you’re willing to drop by around 9 or 10 that should work. I will gladly carry the unit up the stairs. I’ve got a dowel that I used for my AC unit at home that I could probably use to fix the unit in place, but why don’t you bring the drilling stuff you mentioned just in case. Thanks again!

Let’s chat about the event you mentioned whenever you stop by. Feel free to give me a call to let me know when you’re going to head in. My phone number is 503-894-4099

Sebastien... I don't recommend fixing the portable ACs. They are the wrong ACs for WMFO and they are not meant to be kept on all day 7 days a week. Only go with brand new window ACs, not used. Or if Tufts can fix the central AC, that's even better.  Thanks DJD for donating that window AC, but honestly I was hoping for Tufts to approve purchasing all brand new window ACs, or fixing the central AC.  DJD, how old is the AC you donated? I ask because old used window ACs won't last that long and can be a problem in the future.  Keeping fingers crossed. Maybe good for a temporary fix until we get brand new window ACs. But I definitely recommend brand new with the correct BTUs for the size of each room at some point.

I’d pick up some of the Midea U shaped inverter units. They are a lot quieter. We went through about 1 per year of one AC or another.

I filled out a work order for Facilities today. I am going to do everything I can to get a better AC system for the station, but we have to wait until they come in and look at stuff. I’m gonna try and be there whenever they do so I can better explain the situation.

The window unit is practically in new condition, according to D, and the difference was noticeable even a few minutes after we installed it. I agree that it should be a temporary fix until we can either get facilities to install a better system, or until we can get funding to do it ourselves in the fall.

FYI there’s provision to get summer pre-approvals from TCU. I only discovered that my last year lol.

When I had the dedicated outlets run around 2014 facilities said they wanted to come and install the window unit we had purchased and then six weeks later they hadn’t shown up and I just quietly installed it. We used window locks and Derek rigged up some boards supporting the one over A as a precaution so it wouldn’t decimate a poor passerby. Fun times 🤣

We’ve fixed D’s unit with 2 of those little metal brackets that you screw in on either side of the sill that were there for the portable unit before. Seems pretty stable, but I might throw in a wooden dowel for extra peace of mind. The issue is that the unit doesn’t fit completely snug in the sill…side panels have a lip that rests against the inside of the sill, but outside of it doesn’t quite rest against the additional metal lip in the middle of the machine because it’s a little too big. Definitely not a fool proof setup, so I’m hoping that facilities will fix that.

According to the woman from facilities I’ve been in touch with, they have my work order as “address within 7 days” level of priority. Again, I will make sure to be there when they come in to explain the urgency of this issue. Even though facilities can be a bit unreliable, they’ve been pretty receptive in the few times I’ve pinned them down. Hoping for the best.

Sebastian I'll bring in those self-tapping screws I was telling you about. I won't be in till Monday though. And if we run two screws through those hole down Clips on the air conditioner it's going to be perfectly fine. I'm coughing and that it looks pretty good in a secure now but I'd rather see the two self-tapping screws put in there maybe take a picture of that and send it to Nick get his opinion but that would work out okay I'm sure let me know your thoughts. And is it running nice and cold it should be. Thanks d
