CDL in Studio C.

CDL in Studio C won't read pre-recorded (major label/store bought) CDs. It'll read crappy rips I've burned but not the expensive ones.

Please advise.

That’s strange, I’m not sure why that would be. Did you try using CD up?

CD up is fine. Plays everything no problem. CDL kicks out the store-bought CDs with disc errors.

I had the kids from the show before me try a couple of times and they had no success either. It might just need a blast from an air duster.
