National EAS Test Tomorrow Tuesday 11/8

Hello fellow freeform friends,

This is a public service announcement from your friendly neighborhood freeform radio station...

Tomorrow, Tuesday 11/8, will be the first ever nation-wide test of the the emergency alert system (EAS).

This test will be at 2PM Eastern time (EST).

The test should last about 1 minute, and is different from the standard weekly/monthly EAS tests we are all familiar with in two ways:

1. It is a nation-wide activation and will be broadcast simultaneously across all stations nationally (radio & TV).

2. It will use a "live" code (that used during an actual emergency) This will cause some broadcasters to indicate that there is an actual emergency, but never fear this is only a test.
