I was hoping it'd be sent out in the post-staff-meeting email, since that was the impression I got when I asked about it during the meeting, but no dice. Also, I've for some reason been booted from wmfo-staff and can't get back in. I've tried sending a couple emails to exec, but I'm sure they're busy with other start-of-season stuff.

Thank you all so much in advance 🙏🙏🙏 Sincerely, a very confused guy who's eager to listen to new, local music

On which note -- what are y'alls favorite local bands right now?? The conversation about fixing Rick Deckard has enlightened me to how much WMFO DJs know about local music -- I'd love some recs!

Tyler,

We have one of the premier local music shows in Boston, On The Town with Mikey Dee, always a great place to start. Give them a listen and check out their playlists.

Lots of the rest of us play local music, too. Most weeks I include a few bands playing out in town that week. I rely a lot on WMBR's terrific (but not exhaustive) listing of upcoming shows at http://wmbr.mit.edu/www/cr.

Some local favorites I've played the past couple of months:

Senseless Optimism: https://senselessoptimism.bandcamp.com/

SO MUCH GOOD MUSIC AROUND HERE! I just want to keep this list up all night but these ought to keep you occupied a while.

Enjoy!

Forgot to include the incredible Anjimille (pronounced "On-JIM-ily" - took me forever to figure that out): https://anjimile.bandcamp.com/

Thanks so much, all! Excited to work my way through this list! And I've listened to Mikey Dee a few times, great show!! Go WMFO!

And I love Anjimile :-)

Does anyone have the link to join the music submissions elist, as well? During the staff meeting it sounded like that'd be a great way to get some more volunteer hours, too

Never mind; I've made it back into wmfo-staff -- in case anyone was invested in my journey, or also wants to join the new music group, though, all the info is under a message in wmfo-staff titled "New Ways to Help The Music Department!" from October 25, 2021.

Anyways -- thanks for all the music recs, everyone! and by all means please keep them coming!
