If some of you used the deployment site at wmflabs.org please note
that I am renaming the central wiki this week from:
labs.wikimedia.beta.wmflabs.org to
deployment.wikimedia.beta.wmflabs.org
The previous domain should redirect, but it may result in some
outages. This rename is done as a result of discussion we had between
some other devs, there were some complains that the current name is
confusing people, since some of them thought that deployment site is
wikimedia labs, while in fact it's a project of wikimedia labs. If
there are any issues or requests regarding deployment site, please
create a ticket in bugzilla, we have a section deployment beta cluster
in Wikimedia Labs product.
Thank you

"Backstage" projects in the meta homepage[1] might need an update to
reflect the correct understanding too.
Also correct me if am wrong, TestWiki is to test *any* change while
the deployment
site is for testing next wmf release. Translatewiki is the place to
preview/test all i18n changes. Has testwiki become redundant after having
the deployment site?

The deployment site on labs is meant to be a place where unstable
software and development version is running, so that community of
wikimedia projects and tech folks can test it while it's still in
development and prepare their gadgets to work with future version of
software.
I hope it's more clear now
