Please make sure that everyone updates their software this week prior to coming out to the campground.  There is no internet on site.  I will have a thumb drive with updates if needed, but I would prefer everyone starting up the software no later than Thursday, allowing the software to update or going to the website to update.  This will eliminates the update as a possible issue and allowing us to trouble shoot other items as needed.

This is going to be a test of how well this works.  If this works, then we will be running this during field day.  This reduces duplicates, it allows us to have one log rather than multiple logs, and allows us to upload to LOTW as the club.

I have a router setup and ready to go.  I just don't know how far the signal will go, so that will be a part of the test.  I would like to have this running for Field Day.  I will have paper logs as a backup.

This software only runs on Windows.  I can't find any software that allows us to run multiple OS's.  So if you are running Linux or Mac, you might need to run windows in a virtual environment.  If someone knows of another piece of software that runs on both, please let us know.  I just think it's time we move into the digital age a little more than we have been in the past.  There is no known contest happening other than NPOTA.  I will keep my eyes open for any and will let you know what contests are running.

No go under wine.  Looks like this might have to actually be under windows in virtual box.  Anyone have a copy of a windows install CD?

Honestly, maybe it is time we write a web based software.  Then anyone could use it, irrespective of OS (ie, Linux, Android, IOS, OSX, Windows), as long as their OS has a web browser.  Obviously it would not be ready for this field day, but a Raspberry Pi running an Apache webserver under linux using SQL as a back end, hooked to a wifi router for use as an intranet (44/8 of course :P ), might just do the trick.  I am willing to look into writing this in some totally non-portable language like Python 3 :)

Well I am up for it.  The reason they don't make a format like that is because most Hams wont run a web server.  That's one more piece of equipment to carry and power.

All this software requires is one computer to be the master, all the others send their info to that master.  So as long as the Master computer is being used, powered on, all the logs go to that one computer, yet they also remain on the original computer.  Duplicate copies just in case one fails.  I like the idea, and if we could develop it, then we could offer it for a small fee or for free.

So lets see what happens with this, see how this software works, then lets sit down and develop something.  The only requirement would be for the output to be in this format to submit to LOTW.
