1) First, a hearty thanks! When you find any reasonably functional
software offered for free, that's amazing. I've just installed it on
the pc and mobile device. This is definitely a reasonably functional
piece of software, and as a student, with limited resources, could not
be more appreciative for you offering it at a "cost" we can all
afford! Looking forward to using this app more and more.
Plus, I've found your website, and supporting documentation to be very
well arranged and clear. Again, not something that is "automatic"
these days. It shows you've actually put some thought into your work
and it's for the benefit of us... the user! So thank you very much!
2) In addition to the functionality you are currently providing, I'm
wondering if you have/are considering some sort of stroke order
animation?
You mention the website
mdbg.net, so I'm sure you are familiar with
the stroke animation they provide. In addition, a free desktop
software called Pablo likewise uses the CE-DICT Database, however
provides stroke animation.
The only "mobile" apps I know of that provide dictionary and stroke
animation are paid.
I'm wondering the following... if you have considered adding stroke
animation... what do you feel are the greatest barriers to you doing
so? Is it that you do not have the stroke order animation data?
3) Other dictionaries I use likewise rely on the CE-Dict files and
have an update feature, where periodically you can click "update" and
it will download the updated CE-DICT database files with new words/
definitions added, etc. Do you offer any type of "update" process for
the dictionary?
Thanks again for the app! Look forward to your response.
