FYI CREW

Random.

Yuengling Boston started following me on twitter. I managed to be social on the media resulting in them agreeing to send over the list of bars that will have Yuengling on tap.

So stoked.

Looks like it will come out later in the week.

Cool! Just heard a radio ad this afternoon for the brand. They're really turning it up.

Not to rain on the parade, but I don't quite get the hype. People went crazy-in-love when Coors came to the east coast in the 1980s. It was all based on a marketing ploy of "we can't ship it that far from Colorado because it'll go bad." Or at least it started as a truthful statement of logistical limitations, and then became a marketing ploy.

Here's a 2010 Westword blog post (Denver's equiv of the Phoenix) on Fat Tire being the most festishized beer on the east coast: http://blogs.westword.com/cafesociety/2010/06/what_is_it_about_fat_tire_that.php

Same thing with Wegmans or In & Out Burger. Cult status, both. It's like we can't comprehend such a thing as scarcity in our Amazon on-demand culture.
