Updated my Mac 64-bit v0.12.3 to latest v0.12.4: new version reports as 'wkhtmltopdf 0.12.4 (with patched qt)'. But, using same input & command line as before the update I now get tiny. Under 0.12.3 I got a 106 page PDF with text, images, etc as expected. Same settings and source now give an 11 page PDF with text so small it's probably < 1pt!  Very odd. The command line is:

wkhtmltopdf --page-size "Letter" --footer-spacing 4 --print-media-type --footer-center "[page] of [topage]" --footer-font-name "Helvetica Neue" --footer-font-size 11 --footer-line --footer-spacing 5 --header-spacing 5 --header-line --header-center "Manual" --header-font-name "Helvetica Neue" --enable-toc-back-links toc --toc-header-text "Manual - Table of Contents" --toc-text-size-shrink 1 --toc-level-indentation 4em "print-export-source-proc.html" "output.pdf"

I've tried reinstalling but no joy. Platform is macOS 10.12.1 on a 2013 MBAir. FWIW, the source HTML (using print CSS) outputs at the expected size.

TIA

This is being investigated on the issue tracker as #3241. As I don't have a Mac, regressions between releases are quite possible...

Thanks. Just found that issue and for now, setting the DPI works around the bug.  In my case experimentation showed I need to use --dpi 765 to get back tp 'normal' output.  I note my value is about twice that of the commenter on the github issue thread.  FWIW, non-retina display here on a 2013 MacBook Air.

Not sure how one works out the correct dpi for a PDF which one has not created before and so have no comparison for. If I install v0.12.3 will it over-install v0.12.4 and roll back to v0.12.3 as the latter seemed to work in all other respects.

Ashish,

I opened this issue, and in order to poke around a bit more, I tried to build on my Mac using the wkhtmltox-0.12.4.tar.bz2 archive that I downloaded, but I am running into errors. I am building on Mac OS X 10.11.6 using Xcode 8.1. What is the build environment used for the distributed executables for Mac OS X? I understand that you don't have a Mac, so you may not know the answer, who is doing the builds, and could therefore help me in getting this straightened out?

Thanks,

Karl Heinz

This is what I am getting when I run the build script a second time (just to cut down on all the stuff that is working correctly):

I got past this problem by adding the "-continue" flag to the QT configure parameters, but then I ran into a problem with Ruby, which apparently is a known problem with Mac OS X 10.11.

I was able to compile on a Mac OS X 10.9 system however, so I am all set. For anybody else trying to do this, I used Mac OS X 10.9.5 and Xcode 6.2

Thanks.
