to West Kootenay Birds
Hi All,

My apologies for the bird spam but it is yet again Birdathon season. Avery Bartels and myself are conducting Birdathons to raise funds for the TLBO in the beautiful West Chilcotin yet again this year. This season is a major milestone as it marks the 20th season of operation for the project.

I know that many of you have already contributed both this year and in the past and for that we are deeply grateful. For anyone who is interested in finding out more about the project, contributing or following along with our season via our daily blog posts during the months of August and September keep reading.

Our parent organization is the Tatlayoko Field Station Society (TFSS) who are a group of locals which are working towards creating a field station that would bring more researchers to the valley.

The Tatlayoko Lake Bird Observatory (TLBO) is their flagship project.

All our daily blog posts for close to 20 seasons are on our website along with end of season reports and our Birdathon reports.

There are two ways to give. We encourage folks who donate <$250 to do so via our Birdathon as we only receive 75% of that sum with Birds Canada getting the other 25%. Also those funds go towards next season (2027).

For donations >$250 we encourage people to donate direct via eTransfer to the TFSS and indicate that it is intended for the TLBO. They also should send an email to the same address below letting Fritz know who is sending the money so that he can then write up a tax receipt.

eTransfer and email: tatlayokof...@gmail.com

Any questions or queries can be address to the email above or tatlayo...@hotmail.com

As to my Birdathon, I will be conducting it at the end of the month with Craig in SE Alberta and a write up should appear early June. Avery has already done his in and around his home in Whitehorse and the report is already posted on our website.

Otherwise, I hope that a lovely migrant or vagrant catches your eye or ears soon.

Happy Birding!

Sachi
