When I posted about Clark's Nutcrackers last week I made a mistake. I stated that there were no records through the winter at low elevations. That's not quite true. eBird is currently in the process of making a lot of changes to the database to reflect the taxonomic changes that occurred this year. They did warn me that at times the database might not work as it should. I guess that was the case last week when I searched the database and was told there were no records for Dec, Jan or Feb. There are in fact a small number, but still nothing like the numbers that occur earlier in the fall. Today I found that in the last 25 years, there were no winter records at all in 11 of those years. In the other years there were from one to four records.
