Subject: Hummingbird banding
Hi Ed and Hazel,
Haven't talked to you for ages - I hope everything is going well with you. The reason I'm contacting you is that I've started banding hummingbirds again after a 4-year break due to Covid and loss of banding sites. I have two new sites set up at the moment - one in Tower Ridge and one in Robson.
As you can probably sympathize with, I'm not getting any younger, and my eyesight isn't as good as it used to be, so am having some trouble reading the bands. What I would like to do is find someone younger (maybe newly retired?) who would be interested in learning how to band, and who is planning to stay in the area. Do you know anyone who might be interested? I've kind on lost track of the birders in the area, as well as WKNA members, so don't know anyone interested.
Anyway, if you can suggest someone, I'd appreciate it.
Thanks for your help,
Sharon
